Kim Drayton

Kim Drayton, J.D., is a natural leader with a deep commitment to public service. She possesses an exceptional background in design and implementation of strategic community based programs. She has an innate talent for communication, relationship building, and leadership, as well as a dynamic ability to cultivate the commitment and support required to ensure success.

Since 2004, Drayton has held key leadership roles with the Metroplex Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), a nonprofit organization established by renowned faith leader T.D. Jakes of Dallas, Texas, where she rose to hold the senior executive role within the organization and now sits on its Board of Directors. During her tenure, Drayton built a national presence for the organization through tireless pursuit of public and private partnerships that contribute to the organization’s mission and has cultivated personal recognition as a thought-leader in the faith-based nonprofit arena. As a result of this work, she is routinely pursued to speak within public, private, academic and faith settings and has had opportunities to lend her expertise in testimony before the Federal Reserve Board, as a speaker/panelist within Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and as a distinguished guest speaker for T.D. Jakes Ministry’s God’s Leading Ladies Life Enrichment Program, Pastors and Leadership and Partners Conferences.

In 2009, Drayton joined the faculty of NeighborWorks America. Her extensive educational and training background includes a highly complementary combination of business, law, communication, and advocacy. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Ohio State University’s Moritz School of Law, supplemented by attendance at the King’s College Summer Law Institute in London, UK, and her Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Business from Howard University, supplemented by international study at the University of Oslo in Norway.
