Juana Mejia

Juana D. Mejia is the Vice President of Housing Development and Operations at Catholic Housing Management, overseeing over 2,300 units of senior housing owned by the Archdiocese of Miami. She has more than 25 years of property, asset management and real estate development experience, including experience as a property manager, regional manager, asset manager, management company director and real estate development manager. She is also a consultant and trainer for a number of not-for-profit organizations. Juana is also an instructor of asset management courses for NeighborWorks America, CHAM and LISC.

Mejia's experience includes three years as Asset Manager and Sr. Vice President of Operations for Greater Miami Neighborhoods and four years as Director of Urban Edge Property Management in Boston, after several years as the agency’s Assistant Director. During her tenure at Urban Edge, she was recognized as one of the nation’s most innovative administrators of nonprofit affordable housing, helping the organization to increase its portfolio by more than 100%. During her tenure as Director Urban Edge, she was awarded the Metropolitan Life Award by The Enterprise Foundation for excellence in property and asset management.

Mejia's recognized professional strengths include training, staff coaching & capacity building, development of asset management systems and property/asset management financial issues, as well as creating summary reporting systems that support strong property, asset management and real estate development.

She is a graduate of the Emerging Leaders Program in the University of Massachusetts, and is fluently bilingual (English/Spanish). She holds several professional certifications, including Certified Financial Manager (CFM) from the National Center for Housing Management, Accredited Residential Manager (ARM), CPM Candidate from the Institute of Real Estate Management, Nonprofit Housing Management Specialist (NHMS) from the Consortium for Housing and Asset Management and Tax Credit Housing Certification (C3P). Mejia currently serves on the Board of Leading Age Florida.
