JoAnn DePenning is a national educator and trainer, technical assistance (TA) provider and co-chair and statewide coordinator of the Texas Foreclosure Prevention Task Force. She has been a NeighborWorks America faculty member since 2004, drawing upon her extensive experience in affordable housing finance and homebuyer education program development as well as her state and national experience developing collaborative working relationships to accomplish housing solutions.

Ms. DePenning also has extensive experience providing TA and project management for NeighborWorks America. She is currently leading a team of consultants delivering specialized onsite and remote TA to CDFI organizations across the country. TA provided on behalf of the Texas Homeless Network began the implementation of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) in homeless shelters throughout Texas. For Texas’ NFMC sub-grantees, Ms. DePenning provides TA and training services. She also is Co-Chair and Coordinator of the Texas Foreclosure Prevention Task Force, a NeighborWorks initiative.

Most recent, Ms. DePenning was asked to participate in the Senate IGR working group committee reviewing the mortgage settlement. She has served on the Texas Interagency Council for the Homeless for over a decade, is a member of the board of the multi-state non-profit CCCS of Greater Dallas, and is a newly appointed member of the HOPE LoanPort Counselor Advisory Committee.
