Christopher Spence

Christopher Spence has been working in the housing industry since 1992. He began with GE Capital Mortgage Corporation while still in college. His first rotation was in marketing and product development. Working at the headquarters gave him exposure to the varied products and services offered by the company, including mortgage insurance, mortgage servicing, loss mitigation and asset management. Following his tenure at GE, Spence went on to work with other industry leaders such as Wells Fargo and CitiBank. He has progressively moved through the ranks from entry level to senior executive with experience in origination, sales, marketing, underwriting, product development, product management and strategic development. His full scale lending perspective has allowed him to contribute insightful best practices towards helping the banks meet and exceed their CRA and lending goals.

In 1997, Spence co-founded Kreative Capital Investments, Inc. His history with various non-profits, credit counseling agencies, housing finance authorities and GSEs made the transition seamless. In 1999, Kreative Capital expanded from its base as a correspondent lender to provide additional financial and insurance services. Kreative Capital partnered with several Fortune 500 companies to offer relocation services, and adult financial literacy education.

As a consultant, he has worked extensively throughout the US with housing non-profits, municipal governments, Housing Finance Authorities, and various agencies like HUD, FDIC, FHLBs, and the Federal Reserve. Spence did academic studies at North Carolina State University, Howard University and Georgia State University.
