Carl Windom has over 24 years of work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, banking and nonprofit organization experience and 20 years of training and adult education experience. This experience was obtained working for both the National Credit Union Administration as an economic development specialist and with NeighborWorks America as a consultant, where he presently serves as a master trainer in adult education as a train-the-trainer instructor.

As an economic specialist for NCUA, he routinely trains credit union industry personnel, trade organizations and NCUA employees on many topics related to consumer compliance regulations, foreclosure prevention, financial education programs, accounting, auditing, management, balance sheet analysis, strategic planning, succession planning, marketing best practices, revenue and expense budgeting, partnership development and collaborations and CDFI grants programs. He also has worked on the Louisiana Road to Home program with NeighborWorks America and the FDIC in 2005 and 2006.

Windom served for four years and is an honorably discharged Navy Veteran from the United States Navy. Academically, in 1983 he received a BBA with a concentration in accounting from Georgia State University in Atlanta. In December 2007 he received his (CCFE) from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and was professionally designated a Certified Credit Counselor for Credit Unions. He is a 2004 graduate of the USDA executive Leadership Program (ELP). He is also a 1993 graduate of the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University.
