The course is also targeted at helping those who have already incurred student loan debt and are now dealing with the impact those loans are having on their overall budget and financial sustainability. Participants will learn how to maximize counseling on a case-by-case basis using established tools to help improve a client’s financial situation.

Both federal and private loan deferment and forbearance strategies designed to overcome delinquency and default are covered, as well as other federal programs created by the Department of Education to assist clients who continue to struggle to stay current. Finally, this course provides resources for you and your clients when advocacy is required to help with challenges involving servicers.
