Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu featured NeighborWorks America's President & CEO Marietta Rodriguez on a podcast this week. The podcast, released during National Financial Capability Month, highlights the importance of financial health. The goal of discussions like these, Hsu says, is to "improve outcomies for communities and consumers."

Education is a key component to improving outcomes. Rodriguez explains that often, we drive people to housing counselors and coaches in times of crisis. But if we can build on those relationships, we can take families from a point of crisis and “help them achieve the goals they really want to achieve.”

Financial stability is closely tied with stable housing, she shares. "I think the pandemic really proved that to us.”

SaverLife CEO Leigh Phillips also joined in the conversation focusing on the “The Importance of Assets for Financial Health.” This is the second episode of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's podcast.
