Director, Community Building and Engagement
For nearly 12 years, Sarah Parmenter has led NeighborWorks America’s community building and engagement work. She oversees strategy and programming to strengthen and elevate resident leadership and resident-driven solutions within NeighborWorks America and the NeighborWorks network. She provides leadership to the annual Community Leadership Institute (CLI), Dorothy Richardson Awards for Resident Leadership, and Building Leaders, Building Community Program. NeighborWorks has trained more than 10,000 community leaders and provided more than $3 million to support resident-led community projects that support affordable housing and community development. Prior to joining NeighborWorks, Sarah provided capacity building and technical assistance to community-based health coalitions in southeastern Massachusetts.  She has a master's degree in community development and planning from Clark University and a bachelor's degree from Catholic University.
