Wyoming Housing Network partnered with residents and other agencies in the city of Casper to host an “End of the Season Garden Party” at Juniper Ridge--a 55-unit affordable housing community on the east side.
The event started with a planting party and evolved into a community event. Sponsors donated plants, food, cookbooks and gift cards.The party also included face painting, food samples and a free cookbook. The children were most interested in the connection between what they grew and what they were eating.
Each Juniper Ridge resident is given 50 square feet of gardening space and since the event, the beds continue to flourish. Overall, the garden has brought community awareness to Wyoming Housing Network through donations, partnerships and accessibility to residents.
